About Us
Golem Press is an independent comic book publisher dedicated to producing original, high-quality, engaging visual stories with an international perspective.
Our goal is to create a universe with new and compelling characters and storylines that builds on the history, myth, and legend from this fantastically flawed but beautiful orb we call a planet.
We want to start a new golden era of comics that aspires to bring new readers into the wonderful world of comic books. We strive to do this through the preservation of high quality, dynamic comic panels in the footsteps of our forebears in the Four Ages, starting with the Golden age: Kirby, Simon, Siegel and Shuster, through to the Silver age with Kirby, Ditko, Gil Kane, Buscema and Romita Sr., to the Bronze age: Adams, O’Neil, Swan, Simonson & Howard. Then to the Modern age: McFarlane, Claremont, Moore, Gibbons, Byrne, Larson, Miller, Gaiman, David, Simone & Jim Lee–and so many more.
We are committed to giving readers open access to our process, chronicling how we go about making pages and panels–from the first written scripts, through the pencils and inks to the splashes of color, and to the post production, all the way down to packaging the books we send to you. We are determined to live our dream of making an exciting and compelling comic book experience. Come watch how we do it!
Jeff Marvin, Chief Creative Officer
With camcorder in hand, comic geek Jeff began his creative path at the age of 15 after writing his first screenplay. From that moment, he was determined to make a path in film and attended the North Carolina School of the Arts. While he built a career in Film Distribution at film studios including Paramount, Overture, and Sony Pictures, he continued to tend to the forge by writing scripts for feature film, TV, and comics for over 20 years. He has published five graphic novels, but until now has always looked at it as a side quest. Now the forge is lit again and Jeff and his wife Tamar are building Golem Press.
